The median score for ordinary businesses that have taken the B Impact Assessment is 50.9. A score of 80 is the threshold for Certified B Corporation status.
The assessment covers governance, workers, community, environment and customers. It is verified by B Lab before certification is awarded, and the company must recertify every three years.

The score is not a rating of how green we are. It is a measure of how the business is structured across its whole operation: who makes decisions, how people are treated, how the community is affected, how environmental impact is managed and how customers are served.
For a client, the practical difference is that our articles of association require us to weigh the impact of decisions on workers, clients, suppliers, the community and the environment, not just on shareholders.

Our story
Omnium was founded in 2023 to make energy procurement and management clearer for UK non-domestic organisations. From the start, the business was set up to show its commission on the rate and to put every recommendation in writing against meter and invoice data.
B Corp certification was a natural extension of that approach. The assessment gave us a structured way to check that our governance, employment practices, community work and environmental claims matched what we were already telling clients. It also wrote that commitment into law.
We are not a sustainability consultancy. We are an energy and utilities consultancy that has chosen to be held accountable for doing the right thing by its clients, its people and the planet. That is what the B Corp legal structure enforces.

Impact work
Governance
Our fee basis is agreed in writing before any contract is signed. We hold a Level 1 Letter of Authority only, so clients sign every contract themselves. The B Corp legal requirement means that duty to consider social and environmental impact is written into how the company is run, not just into marketing copy.
Workers
We are a small senior team. Decisions are made by the people who speak to clients and read the contracts, so accountability is direct. Training and quality management are covered by our ISO 9001 certification, audited by a UKAS-accredited body.
Community
Act On Energy is our corporate charity partner. We support its work by giving the same service we give to clients: reading meter and invoice data, checking contracts and setting out in writing what the figures support. We also publish Knowledge sheets openly so organisations can check a regulatory position without appointing anybody.
Environment
Before we recommend a capital project, we read the meter and invoice data. Waste that can be removed without spend is dealt with first. We will not describe a supply as renewable without a named backing mechanism in writing, and we will not recommend a project that our own figures do not support.
Customers
Every recommendation we make is written against data we hold, with the source and date stated. Where we cannot demonstrate a benefit, we say so. Commission is shown on the rate, not hidden in the unit price.

Our quality management system is certified to ISO 9001 by the Centre for Assessment, a UKAS-accredited certification body. The two accreditations sit together: B Corp checks the direction of the business, ISO 9001 checks that the work is done consistently.
