Letter of Authority

A Letter of Authority (LOA) is a short, written instruction from you to your energy or water supplier. It tells the supplier that you authorise Omnium to act on your behalf for specific, named tasks. It is not a contract for supply, and it is not a power of attorney. It is a limited permission that can be withdrawn at any time.

Suppliers will not release pricing, contract histories, meter data or billing information to a third party without written authority from the account holder. The LOA is the document that lets us gather that information, present it back to you, and negotiate on your behalf.

Without it we can describe the market in general terms, but we cannot price your specific sites or access your current contract details.

• Obtain consumption, meter and contract data from your current suppliers.
• Request prices from licensed suppliers for the sites in scope.
• Discuss contract terms, start dates and renewal windows.
• Raise billing, meter and service queries with suppliers once a contract is live.
• Manage contract-end dates and renewal notices on your behalf.

Our LOA is a Level 1 authority. That means it is strictly limited to data collection, pricing and contract management. It does not give us the power to bind you to a contract.

• Sign a supply contract on your behalf.
• Switch your supply without your confirmation.
• Authorise changes to your bank or payment details.
• Commit you to a fixed term or volume without your written agreement.

The LOA names the sites it covers and the suppliers it applies to. It does not authorise us to act for any site or supplier that is not listed. If you add sites or change suppliers, a fresh or amended LOA is needed.

We use a standard LOA wording that mirrors the form recommended by suppliers and trade bodies. If your supplier requires its own form, we will use that instead, but always on the same limited basis.

The LOA remains in force until you withdraw it in writing, or until a new LOA replaces it. It does not expire automatically at the end of a contract. This means we can continue to manage renewals and billing queries without asking you to sign a fresh document each year, unless you tell us otherwise.

You can withdraw the LOA at any time by emailing us at hello@askomnium.co.uk or writing to the supplier directly. Withdrawal is effective from the date we receive it. After withdrawal we will stop acting on your behalf, though anything already in progress with a supplier may need to be completed or formally cancelled.

You can also restrict the LOA to named sites or suppliers by asking us for a revised version.

The LOA can be signed electronically using the form below. The online form shows the exact wording before you sign, lists every site and supplier it covers, and records the time and date of signature. A copy is returned to you and to the supplier as evidence of authority.

We handle personal data collected through the LOA as set out in our privacy notice. Consumption and contract data is used only to price, place and manage the supplies it covers.
