Our process
Mapping, Managing, Maximising
Map it.Manage it.Maximise it.
Mapping
Mapping is the audit stage. We review the energy systems in use at each site, from lighting and heating and ventilation through to plant and the working pattern around it, and we benchmark the meters against the consumption they record. That gives a baseline for the estate and shows where energy is being used to no purpose. Anything we cannot confirm from a source document or on site is written down as unconfirmed.
Understanding the estate as it stands
What you receive
A written baseline for the estate: every meter, contract and finding traced to its source, with each gap marked as a gap.
Mapping the path to efficiency
Reading the estate as it is, so savings work starts from a record rather than an assumption.
Site and equipment review
We review what is installed at each site and how it is run, from lighting and heating and ventilation through to plant and the working pattern around it. The review records the equipment, its condition where that is visible, and the consumption it accounts for. Anything we cannot confirm on site or from a document is written down as unconfirmed.
Data insights
We collect the consumption data the meters already produce and read it against your own operating hours. That shows where demand sits through the day, which readings do not reconcile with the invoices, and which questions belong with the supplier or the network operator. Every finding is recorded with the data it came from.
Waste reduction
Mapping shows where energy is being used to no purpose: ageing equipment left running, load outside occupied hours, or charges still attaching to meters no longer in use. Each item is logged against the site it belongs to, so it can be dealt with in order rather than all at once.
Managing
Managing turns the baseline into a written plan for the estate and then runs it. The plan fits the sites, their contract dates and the way they operate. Alongside it we monitor consumption as the meters report it, oversee supplier contracts so renewals are tendered ahead of contract end, validate each invoice against the signed rates, and train the people on site in the part they hold.
The plan, run and recorded day to day
What you receive
A dated record of every action, held against the site it belongs to and visible to you in Insights at any time.
Managing energy effectively
Running the account against the register from stage one, with each action dated as it is taken. The plan for a portfolio follows how the sites are actually run and what the contracts allow, so decisions come from the record rather than a forecast.
Custom plans
We set out a written plan for the portfolio that fits its sites, its contract dates and the way it operates. The plan states what happens, when it happens and who holds it, so attention goes where the register says it is needed.
Smart technology
Where a site would read better with automation, controls or improved metering, we scope the work and a specialist contractor delivers it. We do not install plant ourselves. What the equipment would record, and what it would cost, is set out before anything is ordered.
Team briefing
We brief the people who hold the sites on what the plan asks of them, how to read the reports and who to contact when a figure does not look right. The briefing is written down so it can be repeated when staff change.
Maximising
Maximising is where the estate is taken further than tariff and invoice. Because stages one and two produce verified data, options such as on site generation, storage and efficiency hardware can be tested against recorded demand rather than an assumption. Each option is costed and modelled from your own figures, alongside the compliance dates it affects and the room the estate needs to grow.
Longer term options, costed from the record
What you receive
A costed list of options with the working shown in writing. You decide what proceeds, and you sign every contract yourself.
Maximising long-term sustainability
Working through what the record shows, and keeping it current as the estate changes.
Renewable integration
Where on-site generation is worth considering, we assess whether a site can take it: roof or land available, connection capacity, the planning position, and how the output would sit against the demand recorded during mapping. The assessment is written up with its assumptions shown, and any physical work is delivered by a specialist contractor.
Future growth
Portfolios change. When sites are added or closed, or the operating pattern shifts, we revisit agreed capacity, contract terms and metering so the record stays current instead of being rebuilt from nothing later.
Regulatory compliance
We hold the compliance dates for each site, including ESOS and SECR duties where they apply, and chase them before they fall due. Where a duty is proposed rather than in force we label it as proposed, and we say plainly which obligations sit with you.
What the process does not include
The limits of the appointment are part of the appointment, so they are written down alongside it.
- We do not sign anything on your behalf at any stage. We hold a Level 1 Letter of Authority only.
- We do not estimate around missing data. A gap in the record is shown as a gap.
- We do not carry a recommendation forward on a rate alone. The reasoning is written down with it.
- We do not install plant ourselves. Physical work is scoped by us and delivered by a specialist contractor.
