How the score works
The 100 points are split across five areas. A yes receives the available points, partly receives half, and no or I don’t know receives none.
Measurement and records
20 points for access to interval data and invoice checks against readings and contract terms.
Out-of-hours control
20 points for understanding closed-site load and using a documented shutdown routine.
Heating, cooling and lighting
25 points for occupied-hour schedules, controlled settings and reliable lighting controls.
Equipment and maintenance
15 points for a current plant list and planned maintenance of principal equipment.
Management and follow-through
20 points for named responsibility, regular review and one action record.
What to gather for a fuller review
The calculator can screen operating practice. A proper audit needs the records that show what the site actually did.
A complete recent invoice
One for each electricity and gas meter, including all charge lines and supply identifiers.
Twelve months of meter data
Half-hourly, interval or AMR data where available, with missing and estimated periods identified.
Operating information
Opening hours, shifts, occupancy changes and processes that explain when energy should be used.
Plant and control details
Heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting and process equipment, including schedules and settings.
Questions about the calculator
No. The score is an operational screening result based only on the answers you enter. It is not an EPC, Display Energy Certificate, ESOS assessment or statutory audit.
No. A credible saving needs your meter data, operating pattern, contract rates and evidence of the measure being considered. This calculator identifies checks rather than inventing a saving.

You can complete the operational questions without documents. A full recent invoice, twelve months of meter data, floor area, opening hours and a plant list make the result more useful and are the starting point for a proper review.
