What a heat map shows
A heat map sets a period of half-hourly data out as a grid: days across, hours down, colour for intensity. Patterns that a table of figures hides become visible at a glance.
The readings we look for first are the overnight floor, because load that never switches off is bought every night whether or not the building is in use; weekend and holiday running on sites that are closed; and plant operating outside occupied hours.
How it works
Invoice and letter of authority
One recent full invoice for each meter and a signed letter of authority, so we can request half-hourly data for the supply.
Half-hourly data collected
Data is drawn for the period available. Where readings are estimated or missing, the report says so rather than working around it.
Occupied hours confirmed with you
We record when each site is meant to be in use, including shifts, weekends and shutdowns, so out of hours running can be told apart from normal load.

Report issued and findings ordered
Each finding is named with the load, the times it runs and what we believe it is, put in an order worth acting on: what to check first, what needs a site visit, what is a control setting.

What it costs
A waste report carries a small fee, because it is a piece of analytical work rather than a check of documents you already hold. The fee is quoted per site once we know the meters involved and the data available, and it is agreed in writing before the work starts.
Nothing in the report obliges you to buy anything from us. Where a finding needs work to put right, you are free to use your own contractors; if you ask us to handle it, that fee is quoted and agreed separately.
What we do not do
We do not attach a savings figure to a finding before it has been confirmed on site. The report shows where to look and what to check; the saving is recorded once the change has been made and the data shows it.

Each claim on this page is answered by something you can read for yourself. Nothing below states a figure; it names the document or register the claim is held against.
Point 01
We hold a Level 1 Letter of Authority only
The authority wording sets out what we may do with your data and states that we cannot sign a contract on your behalf. Read it before you sign it.

Our margin or management fee is stated in the terms that accompany a recommendation, and nothing is added afterwards.

Every figure we quote carries a dated source document
Records state the figure, what it is measured against, the document it is taken from and the date on that document. Records still held anonymous are labelled as such.

Consumption figures come from meter and supplier data, not estimates
Where a reading is estimated or missing, the record says so rather than filling the gap.

Validation is carried out against the invoice and the contract
Each query names the invoice, the line it sits on and the contract term it is checked against, so a supplier can answer it directly.
